Edublogger Conference

Posted at 8:27 am under Uncategorized

I am becoming intrigued by a conference I just learned about: Edubloggercon. It looks like the next event EduBloggerCon/Classroom 2.0 “LIVE in San Antonio” will be Saturday, June 28, 2008. One of the proposed sessions looks particularly interesting to me:Who Me? A Researcher? Reflective Blogging and the Teacher Researcher.

This may be because I am currently taking a course in Educational Research, and just learned about Action Research. It seems to me that Blogging is an ideal way to be introspective and put into writing things that you do in your teaching that work.

Also this week I learned about an amazing educator and technologist right here in my home state of Kansas. He’s Kevin Honeycutt and he’s amazing. I heard him speak to the kids at the digital media contest I helped to judge at K-State this week. I didn’t have a chance to visit with him, but through a little research, I learned he’s an avid blogger and video podcaster. I can’t believe how much I have learned in less than a month of blogging and paying attention to what is going on in the blogsosphere in education!

Thanks to all who have offered comments and encouragement. This has been a great month for me!

    Bill,
I am honored and impressed that you are leading others into the larger world of educational technology. Will you be at NECC?

Kevin, I didn’t even know about the Texas conference until a day or two ago. I doubt that I can go because of the number of conferences I have already committed to this year. But it sounds really interesting.

Welcome to the world of blogging. I’ve found it to be so powerful and helpful to my professional and personal learning. My learning network has grown tremendously through blogging and Twitter. I’ve blogged about this quite a lot recently and the responses from my readers has been a learning experience in itself.  If you haven’t checked out using Twitter for  educational purposes, I urge you to do that as well. Best of luck to you. ~Lee
